Are You Susceptible To Hypnosis?

Are You Susceptible To Hypnosis?

A person’s susceptibility to hypnosis is dependent on several factors. Whether these factors work together or oppose each other is entirely in the hands of the individual being hypnotised.

There are factors that are outside of anyone’s control. They come down to the individual makeup of each individual person. For instance, if someone is naturally susceptible to suggestion in their everyday life, they likely will carry along that susceptibility in the hypnosis process as well. Everyone is susceptible to some degree, but this is one of the variables that will contribute to a person’s likelihood of achieving hypnosis very easily.

But there are varying degrees of depth of hypnosis, and hypnotherapy doesn’t require a deep state of hypnosis or ‘sleep’. It can be beneficial at varying levels of depth. The self hypnosis CDs and downloads that I have produced are designed to take someone from a completely awake state into some degree of hypnosis. The deeper they let themselves go the better they feel and the better they feel the deeper they go. Deep relaxation and release of the days pressures can be achieved.

Susceptibility to suggestion is also impacted by repetition. The more you hear a message, the more likely you will be to able accept it is as fact, to buy into it, whether consciously or not. This is also true in everyday life. Take advertising for instance. It doesn’t influence you of course not…What really did make you purchase that new brand of washing powder or Car?

Some people take to hypnosis quite effortlessly, while others need a bit more practice, to help them let go. Their degree of susceptibility might be influenced by other conditions, how relaxed are they what […]

Your Guide To Hypnosis

Your Guide To Hypnosis

There are many stories about hypnosis and hypnotherapy being dangerous, turning people into chickens, people not being able to wake up, and unscrupulous hypnotists exploiting their ‘vulnerable’ patients. However there are many people who are adamant that it has helped change their lives, some from Dudley, Tipton, Wolverhampton and much further afield – I know of for sure. I have helped them succeed in their goals. Millions of people swear that it has helped them with many issues such as weight loss, quitting smoking, other addictions, confidence, phobias, stress, success, IBS, and many more issues.

Many people are missing out on this powerful, yet very safe therapeutic tool because they are too afraid to use it. I hope to dispel these fears by answering these common questions about hypnotherapy right here and now!.

Can I be hypnotised? Most people can go into a hypnotic trance. The only types of people that cannot be hypnotised are … 1. Those suffering from psychosis or a thought disorder 2. A person with a low IQ 3. A person who does not want to be hypnotised. It is very easy to resist hypnosis if you want to.
What is a hypnotic trance? It is a normal and natural state that most of us experience several times a day without even knowing it. It commonly happens when people are driving. Have you ever driven somewhere and not really remembered the journey?, I have just missed my junction. It also often occurs when reading a book or watching TV. Sometimes you can be so absorbed in the book or TV programme that you are not consciously aware that someone is talking to you, or even where you are sat. Hypnosis […]

Why do I need Help?

Why do I need Help?

Well let’s have a look at life briefly to establish Why do I need Help?
We are all born with a clean memory. We become what we have experienced to a degree. As we go through life we have good and bad experiences with those around us and things that happen to us, or, our closest family.

Problems in human beings do not necessarily emerge overnight. As I have already said they are an accumulation of experiences. Things we put into our life’s rucksack if you like. They tend to evolve over time. Some things we deal with satisfactorily, others may be firewalled because they are too big to deal right there and then, or, just too painful at that time of the event. Unresolved emotions or feelings from long ago which have slipped from conscious into subconscious memory, all may have an impact on your current ‘being’ and your perceived feeling of wellness.

Childhood trauma, stressful relationships, work issues, bereavement, divorce, and accidents, war, sudden shocks, all can have an impact on the whole that is an individual human being. Mind body and soul to some can feel the effect internally as well as externally.

When problems do occur many people tend to assume that they will just go away, or disappear if we ‘don’t go there’ as we feel the body has its own innate healing processes. All will be well, they think if they ignore things. But if you overlook problems they may later manifest themselves in physical ills later in life such as – frequent colds, headaches, migraines, stomach disorders , IBS, heart attack and stroke etc.

These physical reactions may be signals that your body is sending out to tell […]

IBS Are you Suffering

IBS Are you Suffering

Thanks largely to the work of Peter Whorwell of Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester, hypnosis is now acknowledged by the medical profession as an effective treatment for IBS. However, Peters research doesn’t mean that it is universal one size fits all. It is the opinion of NICE that hypnosis is the best treatment for Irritable Bowel Syndrome after diagnosis and medication has failed or partly failed.

This said your doctor will not, unless you are one of the fortunate whose GP has trained as a Hypnotherapist, be able to give you hypnosis as a treatment. Not all ‘lay’ hypnotherapists will be able to help either you should consult a hypnotherapist who specialises and ideally who has had IBS themselves.

Irritable bowel syndrome is one of the most common disorders of the digestive system. The organisation IBS Network estimates that it affects one third of people in the UK at some point and to some extent, and one in ten people have symptoms bad enough to visit their doctor. IBS is characterised by a collection of symptoms affecting the small or large bowel, which can cause pain and discomfort.

The exact causes of IBS are unknown. IBS sufferers usually have no physical abnormalities in the bowel, so it has been suggested that there is a strong link between stress and IBS. What seems to happen with Irritable Bowel Syndrome is that the bowel becomes super sensitive and […]

Anxiety – Do YOU Have it?

Anxiety – Do YOU Have it?

Anxiety – Do YOU Have it – Every one has experienced being anxious at some time so we know what anxiety feels like- YOUR not Alone.

YOUR heart pounds before a Driving Test, that important presentation or an exam at school or Uni. YOU can get butterflies in your stomach during a trip to the dentist or hospital. We can and do worry and fret over family problems or feel uneasy in these times at the prospect of asking the boss for a raise.

However, if worries and fears are preventing you from living your life ‘Normally” thats the way you’d like to, you may be suffering from an anxiety or even an anxiety disorder.

The good news is, there are many anxiety treatments and self-help strategies that can help you reduce your anxiety symptoms and take back control of your life. Hypnofix can help you there too. Ring 01384 621857

Understanding anxiety disorders
Firstly it’s normal to worry and feel tense or scared when under pressure or facing a stressful situation. Anxiety is the body’s natural response to danger, an automatic alarm that goes off when we feel threatened. The Flight or Fight Systems kick in. Thats ok if your facing Godzilla with a spear but not a presentation to your colleagues.

Although it may be unpleasant, anxiety isn’t always a bad thing. In fact, anxiety can help us stay alert and focused, spur us to action, actually perform well in that presentation, and motivate us to solve problems. But when anxiety that is constant or overwhelming, when it interferes with your relationships and activities—that’s when you’ve crossed the line from  what generally is acceptable ‘Normal” anxiety into the territory of  anxiety out of control […]

Making an Appointment

Making an Appointment

If you’re interested in finding out what Hypnotherapy can do for you, I offer an initial 30 minute consultation, with no obligation to carry on with the treatment. This will allow me to talk you through what Hypnotherapy is able to achieve, you can ask

any questions you have, and we can establish what it is we are aiming to do in any subsequent sessions. See if you can get on with the sound of my voice by trying the FREE button below and listening to the free track on my download site. If you can then thats fine a face to face appointment or if your budget is tight then a download may help.

If you’re happy to carry on working with me, we can have an hour session of hypnotherapy directly afterwards, provided the diary allows – so you should plan for you initial meeting with me to be one and a half hours. Subsequent sessions will be one hour.

I do not usually see clients in the comfort of their own homes. This is usually because there are too many distractions and in some cases the very thing we are to work on is associated with the home environment in some way. I therefore use a Clinic Environment. However if you are nervous, I understand it may be a new experience for you so  it’s OK for a friend or relative to come along with you.

Appointments held during the normal working day, on weekdays, are £75 for one hour session (The first session is more likely to be of two hours – Same price though £75 so you get 1 extra […]
